Not v1.2 DisplayPort compatible.

Strengths:

Reduced drawing lag over HDMI cable. With HDMI, I was getting a half second lag from when I stopped moving the mouse to when the mouse pointer would stop. Changing to this cable made the pointer work the same as the notebook's native display.

Weaknesses:

Would prefer a three foot cable since the notebook and the monitor sit on the desk immediately next to each other. Manufacturer's web site claims this part number is DisplayPort v1.2. However, in actual use it is not being detected as such, so video refresh rate is downgraded on 4K monitor.

Good cable!

Strengths:

Inexpensive Reliable

Weaknesses:

None, maybe difficult to eject but such is the status quo with full size disolayport.

Additional Comments:

I used this to hook a 1440p monitor with a displayport up to one of the thunderbolt ports on my new retina iMac. Mean to get another for the other monitor. Even recognized the speakers on the external monitor if you really want. I don't think my use case gets a better deal than $10 for this. So worth it over a $50 Apple thunderbolt cable.
