They're not bad, but I wish I would have spent a bit more.

Strengths:

They throw a nice stereo image in the center of your screen. Reasonable loudness level considering they are 10W. Good for watching Youtube video interviews, speech is very clear. Ultimately, they have reasonably good detail rendering and "clarity' for most music/video situations.

Weaknesses:

The high frequencies are a bit sibilant (gritty sounding) and I might not be able to get used to it. There is also a hollow sound in the bass region that seems like an enclosure resonance that shows up on some music tracks... what you might expect to get with a lower-cost "sealed box" (non-ported) plastic enclosure. These are big speakers - almost 4" wide by 8" tall, and the white "rings" on either side of your screen are distracting to say the least. I will need to DIY these rings a different color - but it's not a big deal.

Additional Comments:

Not a bad speaker considering the price, but if you you're going to be using these for music primarily and you have an ear for sound, I'd spend a bit more. The bright white rings on the black background might be too distracting for anyone watching movies or gaming. In other words, you might find a slightly more expensive speaker a better value depending on your needs. I find that many powered speakers today have a gritty "digital amp" sound compared to the smoother sounding analogue amps of decades past, so this may be a non-issue for you if you're under 40. Or 30.

Really great speakers for an amazing price

Strengths:

They sound awesome at reasonable volume (don't go max with these), decent bass for easy listening such as Youtube or Spotify. Amazing price. You can plug in two devices at once which I love. One for the PC for gaming, the other for music from my Raspberry Pi. That way I can still have my music when my PC is off.

Weaknesses:

Not the greatest sound, but all I have to compare them to are $500 Bose headphones... not the punchiest bass. I don't think you should game with these.

Additional Comments:

Overall very great speakers at the price point. I recommend for anything but gaming or audio engineering. If you just want something to beat your desktop or monitor speakers, these are great.

Great Bang for your buck

Strengths:

-They get quite loud. 10 Watts is a generous amount of power at this price. -The Bass Slider actually works. -Volume Knob is very smooth and doesn't feel cheap. -Nice design, they look good on your desk laid flat or standing up. -Long cords. -Sound is crisp and clear.

Weaknesses:

-Experienced some distortion at max volume with the bass slider also at max while listening to heavy metal.

Additional Comments:

Get them.
