Fast and reliable

Strengths:

Very fast, got 9Gb/s with iperf over cat 5e cabling. Jumbo frame support. Reliable windows drivers. Ability to specify VLAN in windows.

Weaknesses:

No support for multiple vlans/vlan trunking in windows.

Additional Comments:

Very solid 10Gbe nic, great value.

Bought 2 For a Home PC & NAS

Strengths:

Fast Good Driver Support in Windows & Linux Can find community drivers for Linux that work even better than Aquantia provided drivers. Works great with Cat5E and Cat6 Cabling.

Weaknesses:

Have to flash the latest Firmware for best results; which is not easy to do at all.

Additional Comments:

Good cards, fast. I built a server which is connected to my home PC. They are connected with 2 of these cards. I would get random disconnects between them, server is Ubuntu 18.04 and home PC is Win 10. Been troubleshooting for months. Finally found newer firmware with a method to install it on station-drivers. Installed today. Bit lower throughput so far, but no disconnects so I'm happy. Finally an upgrade from 1Gb. This is the cheapest possible way to do it, currently. If you buy these for your setup, go look at the forum pages for the FW update. You must disable driver signing enforcement to update the FW and this is not fun, but do-able.

Garbage

Weaknesses:

Poor drivers

Additional Comments:

Linux drivers are crap. Aquantia drivers are up to date but will crash system. Asus drivers don't even compile for current Linux. This deserves fewer than one star.
