junky card failed after a few months

Strengths:

cheap I loaded this about half full with music files and put it in my phone and forgot about it.

Weaknesses:

unreliable. cannot even be reformatted. died with very little use. I recently tried to play some of the music and it was like the phone had no sd card. when i put it in the computer it was saying it needed formatting to use. I tried chkdsk on it and most of teh files were corrupted. unable to format it now.

Additional Comments:

I found a 64gb kingston for less, so I am changing to that. Luckily I had all the music backed up but I lost a bunch of photos on it. worse than the unreliability is the many hours it will take to load the music on a new card.

Data loss while used in phone

Strengths:

Have used ADATA flash drives for years without problem.

Weaknesses:

Have used ADATA flash drives for years without problem. Figured the micro SD card would be just as reliable so I did not check the reviews. I bought two 128gb micro sd cards to replace two other sd cards in matching motorola phones for extra storage on boxing day. Both micro sd cards failed and on one the file system was corrupted as Raw. Attempts to recover the corrupted data which was reading raw via a computer with windows 10 was unsuccessful. (Was able to recover 100 % of the data on the other).

Additional Comments:

Not worth the risk for the $5-$10 saving off high reputation brands such as SanDisk,, etc. One star review as 2 cards failed, the product stopped working and I was unable to recover the data. Lots of one star reviews on amazon as well.

Sufficient for daily dashcam use

Strengths:

Good value

Additional Comments:

I got this card for my dashcam a year ago, and today I finally need to download the footage to my computer as there was a car accident. I have no problem with downloading the footage. That's why it prompts me to go online and check the price, I'd wait for Black Friday to buy another one.

cheap junk

Strengths:

Looks like a good deal

Weaknesses:

Deal is too good to be true. The SD card is junk.

Additional Comments:

Maybe you heard of the Chinese scam sd cards where it says its 1TB and the computer might recognize 1TB but really its just rewriting old data in order to look like its storing more than it really is? Linus covered it in a video. That's how this SD card seems to be. I was upgrading from a smaller SD card so first thing I did was dump everything onto the ADATA card and didn't notice anything was wrong so went ahead and formatted and repurposed the old one. Big mistake. About 20% of my old files were corrupted. Images with stripes through them, videos that wouldn't play, music/sound files garbled, folders found entirely empty. I've never encountered storage failure like this before so I thought maybe it was my fault for transferring something like 60GB of assorted junk at once, or maybe my PC did a bad or something. So I assumed I failed and kept using this SD card. Over time I erased and tried to replace the files that it ruined and added more photos and things. I thought I was fine, but over the course of a couple months I noticed the same thing happening. Files going missing or unable to access, even some random crashes. Almost like some kind of spooky virus except that nothing else is affected and Kaspersky can't find anything wrong. Just an embarrassingly low quality SD card. Stay away from this. ME should destroy the rest of this product or make ADATA take it back. Judging from all the other reviews what we have here is just garbage.

Lost my photos, music, and app data

Strengths:

Cheap

Weaknesses:

Not dependable

Additional Comments:

I was playing music from the card while taking pictures (to be saved on the card). After few minutes, my phone shut down unexpectedly and when I turneded it on, all my photos and music on the card were gone. Folders are there but empty. Tried mounting the card in my laptop to try un-delete function, nothing is retrievable. My advice, if your budget is good for a Sandisk card with half the capacity of this one, chose Sandisk

Failed after 1 or 2 months

Strengths:

Cheap

Weaknesses:

My photos got corrupted and is non-recoverable.

Additional Comments:

It's a real heartache to load your photos on your desktop and realise some of the shots got corrupted. I took some shots of a waterfall 2.5 hours away from Calgary that i'll never get back. Guess i'm reverting back to my 16GB sd card :( Stay away from this card if you want to save your memories. Definitely don't use it for anything important. It's a little too late to get my money back too :(

failed after a month

Strengths:

microSD went into raw during normal use and nothing could be done to recover data or reformat. it's $18 for a reason. the purpose of cards like this are limited, maybe if you want to quickly load up your movies for a short trip it would be useful to an extent.

Additional Comments:

if you want reliability, don't bother. you will lose your data unexpectedly, go with samsung or sandisk just not some bargain bin brand for that stuff.

Cheap card - Technically "works" - slow read/write - corrupted files

Strengths:

Technically works cheap (not to be confused with inexpensive)

Weaknesses:

Slow read ~20MB/s crystal disk mark on "fill 0x00" Slow write ~10MB/s crystal disk mark on "fill 0x00" Corrupt files after writing to more than half the drive

Additional Comments:

Owned 2 months. Paid something like $17 so Im not really complaining. Used this card for my cars dash cam. Worked well for the first few 10's of GB. When the card filled up there was a folder will hundreds of folders and files with all weird characters. The kinds you aren't supposed to be able to write in a file name. This folder was 937 GB! This is a 128GB card. Some of the dash cam videos are corrupted, most skip and miss sections of recording. 3 minute video, that is 5 minutes long. In other words you can see the timestamp skip 10,15 or even 30 seconds during the flow of the video. Basically making the car useless. Confirmed its not the camera by switching to a Sandisk Memory card.
